City votes to enter into economic development agreement

TYLER, TX (KLTV) – The Tyler City Council unanimously voted to enter into an economic development agreement with North Chase Development.

The plan is to build a master-planned community in North Tyler, off of North Broadway near Loop 323.

North Chase Development has already cleared a patch of land that will eventually become the Forest Meadows subdivision. The subdivision is a part of a 405 acre plan that will also include an apartment complex and retirement community.

"This is gonna be the first of its kind. So I'm very excited about being the first to develop a town home community as well as bring in these single family affordable housing," says Ed Thompson of North Chase Development.

The City of Tyler believes that if affordable housing is available, economic development will soon follow.
