East Texas WWII veterans headed to Washington D.C.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Dozens of world war two veterans are on their way to the nation's capitol.

They left from the Tyler Regional Pounds Airport just before 7 a.m. Tuesday. Brookshire's and Super One Foods is the sponsor behind this trip and it's at no cost to the veterans.

In fact, they did the same thing for dozens of veterans back in October. The vets we spoke with are very excited about the trip. Most of them are wanting to see the Vietnam Memorial.

Sponsors of the trip say this year the veterans are staying an extra day. They are expected to return Thursday around 6 p.m. at the Tyler Regional Pounds Airport.
