TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Smith County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a overnight shooting at a truck stop.

Authorities say around 8:15, Monday evening, Thomas Marrow, 24, of Tyler was shot near the pilot travel center on FM 14, just north of I-20 in Tyler.

According to the victim, he picked up the two suspects in south Tyler, possibly at a gas station.

After the suspects fueled up Marrow's vehicle, they asked him to give them a ride to an area near FM 14 and I-20 to meet someone. After a period of time at the meeting location, Marrow heard noises behind him and turned around. It was at that point that he realized the suspects were shooting at him.

Marrow took off running to a nearby house and beat on the door, but no one answered, so he continued running until he came to the Pilot truck stop. Once in the parking lot, he began screaming for help and people began to gather around him. Authorities were called at that time.

It was sometime after Marrow took off running that the suspects left in his vehicle. One of the suspects is identified as a 5'11'' black male who goes by "Chopper".

Marrow was transported to a local hospital where he remains at this time. His injuries are not considered life threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities are asking that you contact local law enforcement if you see the suspect vehicle. Do not approach it. Authorities do not know how dangerous the suspects are.
