WASKOM, TX (KLTV) - Waskom ISD was placed on lockdown for about an hour and a half on Friday afternoon following a bank robbery at Citizen's National Bank off Hwy 80 around 1:20 pm.
The suspect ran into the bank on Spur 156, armed with a gun and went to a teller demanding money. The suspect then was handed an undetermined amount of cash and ran out of the bank. No injuries were reported.
Police say they do not have any suspects in custody.
The FBI is looking into the possibility that the bank robbery could be connected to a series of bank hold-ups in the Shreveport area since December of last year.
The FBI describes the suspect as a black male about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing a ski mask, red long-sleeved shirt, baggy pants and white tennis shoes.
