Three East Texans running meth house blocks from school

Mt. Pleasant (KLTV) – Police have arrested three people they say were running a meth house on Alvis Street, blocks away from Sims Elementary School in Mount Pleasant.

The neighbors knew that the house was abandoned, so when a truck was spotted in the driveway, they knew something wasn't quite right.

When police arrived, they noticed the front door was partially open. Once inside, they found materials used to make methamphetamine.

41-year-old Bradley Reeves and 29-year-old Jim Key of Mount Pleasant, along with 23-year-old Amanda Bunch of Avery were all arrested at the home.

"If we find that they're processing, manufacturing or selling narcotics especially close to a school, we are particularly happy and pleased that we are able to remove them off the streets," says Captain Robert Vine of Mount Pleasant Police.

All of those arrested now face up to 99 years to life in prison if convicted. All three suspects are charged with manufacture of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.
