Trinity Mother Frances Wound Care receives accreditation

Released by Trinity Mother Frances Hospital and Clinics:

TYLER, TX - Trinity Mother Frances WoundCARE was recently awarded a Center of Distinction accreditation for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society and joins an elite group of 88 facilities throughout the United States currently accredited and only 28 with the title Center of Distinction.

The UHMS accreditation is widely considered to be the best indicator of a reputable HBOT provider and was awarded to Trinity Mother Frances WoundCARE after expert evaluation of the facility's commitment to staffing and training, equipment installation, operation, maintenance, facility and patient safety and standards of care. Over 1,600 individual survey items had to be successfully complied with to receive accreditation.

The accreditation by UHMS is essentially a seal of approval in the way Trinity Mother Frances WoundCARE provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to our patients, said Todd Hancock, vice president of operations, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. We are proud to have met the high performance standards necessary to receive accreditation.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a medical treatment in which a patient breathes 100% oxygen while inside a high-pressure air chamber.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been used for more than 40 years to help people recover from illnesses such as carbon monoxide poisoning, and decompression illness commonly referred to as The Bends. Today it is also used to treat problem wounds and several other medical conditions.

Trinity Mother Frances offers wound care services in two convenient locations, Tyler and Winnsboro, to better serve those suffering with a wound that just won't heal. For more information about the WoundCARE facility nearest you, visit
