TYLER, TEXAS (KLTV) - Mike Meador, athletic director with Lindale ISD, said he was proud to load up members of the high school football team, Saturday morning.
"We had to wake up at like, 6:30 this morning, but the breakfast was worth it," said Ashton Griffin, a Lindale senior. "It's kind of cool knowing that she came from [Lindale]."
"I want to teach these guys to give their time and their efforts to help the community," said Meador.
The team volunteered to set-up chairs, hang stage lights, and help out where ever else they were needed.
"We are totally excited," said Gayle Helms with the Humane Society of East Texas. The concert is major fundraiser for HSOET.
Helms said it started four years ago when Miranda adopted "Delilah" from the shelter.
"We lost so much money when we stopped working with the city and the county that fundraisers like this are critical to our continued existence," said Helms. "[Miranda] is totally committed to it--she and her whole family, they're true animal lovers."
The proceeds will be distributed by Miranda's animal-friendly foundation to organizations across the country, including, HSOET.
Nearly 6,000 tickets were sold as of Saturday afternoon.
