Community Radio Station Celebrates First Birthday

They call it a grand experiment on a small scale. It's a low power radio station in East Texas, and they're playing the sounds of 'big bands and unforgettable singers.'

The 75 watt community radio station sits in Chalk Hill. Chuck Conrad started the community station last year. They also play old radio commercials, comedy routines and old radio shows from Bob Hope and even Bill Cosby.

Chuck says the community has loved every minute of it. The 104-point-7 only has a ten mile range but with a real good antenna listeners in Longview, Lakeport, Tatum and Kilgore can also pick up the old tunes.
