NWS confirms two East Texas tornadoes

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The National Weather Service has confirmed two East Texas tornadoes, but of which were EF-0 twisters. One of them near Van, and the other in North Tyler.

The tornado in Van was along a seven mile long track in extreme Northwest Smith County. This tornado was a continuation of the tornado that moved out of Van Zandt County. Multiple trees were snapped one mile south of I-20. The storm crossed I-20 two miles East of the county line and then lifted approximately four miles Northwest of Lindale on FM-16.

The winds were estimated at 75-85 miles per hour.

The tornado in Tyler was three miles Northwest of Tyler. The EF-0 tornado snapped and uprooted multiple trees along a three mile track just inside Northwest Loop 323 and North of Martin Luther King Blvd. The Tornado touched down two miles Northwest of downtown Tyler on Cecil Street and moved East ending near the intersection of North Northeast Loop 323 and CR-376.

The path width was 60 yards wide and winds were estimated at 75-85 miles per hour.
