Officials: 2 elderly women arrested for trafficking opium

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – After receiving numerous complaints, the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has arrested two women on drug charges.

Sgt. April Stanley, spokesman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said agents from the BCSO Drug Enforcement Unit received those anonymous complaints regarding a home along Pembrook Street in the Ocean Isle area.

Upon investigation, agents were able to seize $215 in cash and various medications including hydrocodone and alprazolam tablets.

Shirley Lee Prince, 64, of Beulaville and Cassie Floyd Dail, 73, were arrested at the home and charged with one count of trafficking opium. They were processed at the Brunswick County Detention Facility and both received $100,000 unsecured bonds.
