Attempted robbery, assault suspect identified

UPDATE: The female suspect that was arrested in the Aggravated Assault case listed below is Laquisha Machelle Brooks, B/F, 01/12/1987, of Tyler. Brooks is the same person that was just arrested for the two Robberies in December, 2010 and April, 2011.

On April 23, 2011 at approximately 4:06 a.m., officers were dispatched to the East Texas Medical Center emergency room regarding an individual who had been stabbed.

According to medical staff the victim's injuries were serious, but not life-threatening. While speaking with the victim he stated that he was stabbed by his live-in girlfriend following an argument at their residence located within the 2300 block of Bellwood Rd. Officers contacted the suspect at the residence and following a thorough investigation placed the suspect under arrest.

The scene was processed for evidence and the suspect was transported and booked into the Smith County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a 1st degree felony.

TYLER, TX - Tyler Police Investigators have identified the suspect involved in the Robbery of a female victim who gave the suspect a ride on April 20, 2011.  The suspect is Laquisha Machelle Brooks, B/F, 01/12/1987, of Tyler.  Brooks is charged with two counts of Robbery.  The first incident occurred when Brooks approached an employee of UPS in the parking lot and robbed him on December 8, 2010.  

Brooks is now in Smith County Jail under a $200,000.00 bond, set by Honorable Judge Jack Skeen.
