TYLER, TX (KLTV) -  A dynamic East Texas tennis duo is headed back to state to defend their state crown.  Tyler Lee's James and Mitch Martell are the reigning 5A doubles champs in the state of Texas.

Wednesday they punched their second straight trip to Austin.  Now the brothers get one more swing at gold before splitting up to play in college.

"We've been playing since we were little 10 to 12 years old," said James Martell.  "Ever since we've stuck together and that truly helps our game. We know each others weaknesses and strengths."

The second time to state has proven to be difficult.

"It wasn't as easy as we thought it was going to be this year," said Mitch Martell.  "Because there are a bunch of teams out there that want to beat us because we are the defending state champions."

The state tournament is May 9th at UT in Austin.

One search on twitter of the hashtag "bEASTtexas", and you will be scrolling for days. The amount of talent that comes from this region is mind blowing. It is even crazier to see around 10 Major League and minor league baseball guys working out together in one room.
