Child tells suspicious person to 'get lost'

TYLER, TX (KLTV) – A 12-year-old boy was approached by an unknown white male after getting off the school bus at the intersection of Aberdeen Dr. and Edinburgh Dr. on Tuesday afternoon.

The stranger told the child to get into his car and that he would take him home. The boy was less than half a mile from his home and kept walking, although the man continued to drive slowly beside him.

After repeatedly asking the boy to get in to the car, the man sped away when the boy repeatedly refused and asked him to get away from him.

The boy told his father that the stranger mentioned several times that he knew where he lived, which lead the father to believe that this may have been planned.

Luckily for the boy, their family had been preparing him for years on how to handle a situation like this. Because of those regular conversations, he was able to make it home safely.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40's or early 50's. He has thick, curly white hair and was driving a black, older model 4-door car.
