Longview woman's death revisited five years later

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - It was a gruesome discovery five years ago in Longview. A woman's body was found at the intersection of Eastman Rd. and North Access Rd., and her death is still a mystery.

When her body was found, 40 year old Norma Martinez-Cooper had no identification. Police said she was beaten to death, but no motive or suspects have ever been found. There are still no answers as to what happened to her, five years to the day after it happened.

For days after she was found, police scoured the area looking for any little piece of evidence that would lead them to her killer. In spite of all the leads tracked down over the last five years, nothing has helped to solve the mystery.

Cooper's sisters have done all they can to talk to locals and even post flyers appealing for someone to come forward, hoping that someone will come forth with some new information on who is responsible for her death.

Family members hope there is at least one person left in Longview who may know why Cooper was killed.

The family is offering a $1,300 reward and Crime-Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward.
