Big Mac leads to big bucks

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - On Tuesday, McDonald's held their nationwide hiring day event, interviewing people for many different positions at their locations. They are expecting that around 50,000 people could be entering the workforce, thanks to this event.

Since early Tuesday morning McDonald's restaurants nationwide have been interviewing people for new positions at their locations. One store manager, Daniel Daniel, at a Tyler location says he is looking for 8 new people for his location.

"It's about the opportunities McDonald's employees have to move up, and it looks like people are taking notice," says Daniel.

By lunchtime, he had already talked to about 50 possible candidates.

Most McDonald's nationwide are looking to add about four to five new crew members and people who may be looking for a long term career.

Outra Washington, one of the potential candidates says, "I'm looking to grow with the company. Like I said, I know I'm going to start off as a crew member but I want to expand that and I want to grow and be assistant manager. Maybe one day I'll have my own store."

Even though it was only a one day event, if you are interested in a career at a McDonald's restaurant you may still apply online.
