OKLAHOMA (KLTV) - Severe storms pounded parts of the southern plains Thursday evening producing multiple tornadoes, high winds, and tennis ball size hail.
Meteorologists Grant Dade and Brett Collar were on one storm making its way through Madill, Tishomingo, and Tushka, Oklahoma.
The first tornado they chased was an EF-1 that touched down just Northwest of Madill. Trees were down but there didn't appear to be any major damage.
When they arrived in Tushka, the damage was much worse. Multiple trailer trucks were rolled over, buildings and homes had rooftops torn off, and a mobile home park was leveled, leaving only a few homes standing. This tornado was rated an EF-3 and is blamed for the death of 2 Tushka townspeople.
The storm continued to the East-Northeast producing multiple tornado warnings and leaving a path of destruction.
In total, nearly 20 tornadoes touched down and nine fatalities were reported.
