East Texans looked to the skies for a spectacular site in Tyler this morning for a vintage plane fly-over.
About 30 planes from the 1920s and '30s passed directly over Tyler Pounds Regional Airport about nine this morning.
The fly-over was part of the National Air Tour 2003. It's an historic flight re-creation of the national air tours that took place from 1925-31 as a way to introduce America to the concept of civil and commercial flight.
The sky over east Texas was just one leg of a 4-thousand mile journey for these historic planes.
