F-101 Voodoo lands in Tyler

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - After a long journey, the newest addition to the Historic Aviation Memorial museum has arrived.

It took five years of hard work to bring the F-101 Voodoo to Tyler.

After much anticipation, the F-101 Voodoo is finally joining a family of fighter planes at the historic Aviation Memorial Museum.

Ron Rimby says the museum's primary focus is gathering fighter planes from the Korean and Vietnam wars.

"The people that are coming to our museum now are more Korean veterans, Vietnam veterans or are currently serving," Rimby explained.

Moving the F-101 Voodoo wasn't an easy task. But Rimby says it was worth it, to be one step closer to completing the museum's collection.

Rimby hopes to complete the "century series" collection by the end of the year.
