Suspect named in convenience store knife point robbery

CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX - Shane Ryan Kirkland, 20 years of age, is wanted out of Cherokee County for Aggravated Robbery. 

On the 29th day of March 2011 Kirkland allegedly entered the Hot Spot convenience store located in Mt. Selman.  Kirkland exhibited a knife while demanding money, cigarettes, and K-2 from the clerk. 

Kirkland is known to frequent the Troup, Whitehouse and Northern Cherokee County area.  Kirkland was the focus of a manhunt on April 5, 2011 by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Criminal Justice K-9 Division, but eluded capture.  A $500 Crime Stoppers reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of Kirkland.  Kirkland should be considered armed and dangerous.

Kirkland also has an outstanding warrant out of Smith County for a probation violation.

Kirkland is described as a white male, 6'00" tall, 150 lbs, brown hair and brown eyes.
