Live Eagle Cam: Eagles feed Eaglets

Posted: Updated:

It's the scene that's kept more than 11- million people mesmerized.. two Eagles caring for their young.

An eagle family in Decorah, Iowa, has been a hit all over the nation over the Internet. people are watching the live video stream as if it was a TV show. We talked to one East Texan who loves to watch the Iowa eagle team of two, take care, and feed their newly hatched Eaglets.

"One of them will start squawking, kind of making this squalling noise, and then just a few minutes later the other one will come, and it's like, they take turns. It's just been so amazing to watch," says Krista Peterson.

The camera gives everyone a chance to check on the birds 24 hours a day.

Peterson says, "People say watching a fish aquarium just kind of soothes the soul, I mean, to me, it's the same."

But Yvonne Stainback from the Caldwell Zoo says the Eagles make living look easier than it is.

"It takes work to hunt, so they got to find something, so they spread those duties out one will sit for awhile and one will get a chance to stretch out the legs and leave and to do the hunting," says Stainback.

Stainback says eagles are usually on a fish diet...but really, they'll eat anything they can.

Stainback says, "That looks like a bird, and that looks like a squirrel or something, because it looks like it has fur, I don't know what that is."
