Woldert park in north Tyler is getting a $500,000 face lift. The Tyler City Council approved a contract with Smith Contractors Wednesday for improvements. They include construction of a 1.5 acre lake with a pier and grass amphitheater, the addition of nearly one mile of bicycle and pedestrian trails and drainage improvements. Also, about five acres of the park will be dedicated for natural habitat and environmental education. The project is expected to start next month and should be complete in the first quarter of 2004.
