Super signing day

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -   It was a signing so big, there weren't enough pens to go around.

"Look at all these universities to sign," said TJC goalkeeper Andre Grandt.  "It's awesome. We are all going to big division one schools."

A dozen different Apaches signed NCAA scholarships.  Many going to the nations top soccer programs, like St. Johns, Rutgers and U.C. Santa Barbara.

"Everyone is proud of each other," said TJC's Dom Dwyer.  "It's a great achievement and we're all looking forward to the future."

Head coach Steve Clements couldn't be prouder.

"I've been doing it for 18 seasons at this point and I've never been around a collective group that was more successful on and off the field," said Clements.

This group of Apaches never lost a game, bringing two national championships to Tyler. A success story that likely won't be matched.

"Especially never to lose," said TJC's Kyle Nicholls.  "And just how close we are as well. It made it so much more enjoyable. We were all good friends and it just made it that much more fun."

Nicholls will join Dwyer at South Florida in the Big East Conference.

"It's bittersweet," said Dwyer.  "We all love each other as a group and we're all close friends, but you have to grow up and move on. It was great but everything has to come to an end."

One search on twitter of the hashtag "bEASTtexas", and you will be scrolling for days. The amount of talent that comes from this region is mind blowing. It is even crazier to see around 10 Major League and minor league baseball guys working out together in one room.
