Golfing for a Cause

Posted by Coleman Swierc

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - This was more than just a golf tournament.

At Hollytree Country Club, it was all about the kids.

In their only fundraiser of the year, the Special Wish Child golf tournament raises money, for special needs children.

"It seems like if you have a child that has a special need, you know first hand," Kim Braly, one of the event coordiators, said,  "Or others do it because they have healthy kids and they're so thankful for that they want to help those that are less fortunate."

From books and toys, even a trip to the beach, Special Wish does their best to make each kids wish come true.

This year, the 24th annual tournament helped 12 children live their dream.

"It's not about how you play today, it's more about what we do with the end result with the financial side of it," said Kevin Shively, "We love to come together for a good cause and spend a great day on the golf course."
