Released by The Office of Chuck Hopson:
AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) – After years of fighting for measures which would restore Texans' faith in the voting process, House members joined together to overwhelmingly pass mandatory Voter Photo ID legislation on Thursday.
"I do not believe this significant achievement could have been accomplished without the continued support of citizens from across this state," says Hopson. "When the Governor signs SB 14 into law, we can once again have faith in the voting process."
The House version of SB 14 requires voters to present one of the following photo identifications to vote
Texas Drivers License
Texas Personal Identification Card
United States Military Identification Card
United States Citizenship Certificate
United State Passport
