TYLER, TX (KLTV) – Another home burglary in Tyler makes it the third in two days. The latest break-in occurred around 8 pm on Lamb Drive on Wednesday.

This makes the second time in two days, some East Texans had to hide while burglars ransacked their home.

In this case, the homeowner's 13-year-old daughter hid under her bed while the intruder searched the house.

The girl's father spoke to KLTV about the ordeal.

"Real scary. Real scary. My little daughter was in there," the man recalled.

"My fiance came and said the back room was destroyed, the dressers were open, my clothes were everywhere, all on the floor," described the man who asked to not be identified.

The strange thing is, the man says nothing was stolen.

Police say the person entered through an unlocked door. When the alarm went off, the girl barricaded herself under the bed.

Her father believes the intruder was casing their house, waiting to make a move.

"I guess they were watching her when she left out the house and came right in or something," he said.

It's the second time in just two days burglars have barged into homes with residents there.

At this point, Police don't know if the cases are connected.

Neighbors here say they want the intruders caught before the problem escalates.

"I don't want to hurt anybody, but with that happening, I do have the right to protect my property and my home, and I will do that," expressed concerned neighbor Clifton Henry.

Neighbors who rely on alarms now question if they're enough to keep brazen burglars away.

"It's very bold for someone to… come when people are at home," says Henry, "I'm going to get some dead bolts on there. I'm gonna secure everything."

Until these intruders are caught, he says it's hard to feel safe in his own home.

The 13-year-old says she saw the suspect jump the fence behind their house and run away. She did not get a good look at the man.
