UPDATE: Missing Smith Co. woman found

CHAPEL HILL, TX (KLTV) - Smith County Sheriff's Department located the missing woman just after 4 on Monday afternoon.

64-year-old Elsie Young, was reported by a resident, to be near FM 3226.

According to authorities, 64-year-old Elsie Young was first reported missing around noon, Sunday.

Officials say a homeowner on Hwy 64 E reported that a woman wearing only a shirt and underwear approached them yelling something that couldn't be comprehended.

Around 2 pm, Smith County received a call about an abandoned car at CR 22 and Hwy 54 E. Reportedly, the car had been running since 12:30 with no one in it. Witnesses say that another car with a man and a woman in it approached the abandoned car and took what looked like a person from inside and drove off.

A driver's license with the name "Elsie Menager" was found in the abandoned car.

Police say Young's husband has not seen her since midnight on Saturday, March 19.

Authorities had been searching the woods behind Chapel Hill High School all morning, with two deputies on horseback, three on 4-wheelers and a helicopter unit.

Young has been taken to a Tyler hospital as a precaution, but officials believe she has no injuries.
