Howard Nisbet flew 28 missions as a B-24 Bomber Pilot in World War Two. Although Nisbet escaped injury, his plane was hit so many times, its crew named it "Patches".
Two Distinguished Flying Crosses, five Air Medals, and numerous campaign ribbons only hint at the degrree of Nisbet's courageous actions in the war. His downing of Herman Goering's infamous "Yellow Nose Squadron", made up of Germany's top aces, is a historic footnote to Nisbet's service.
