Alert citizen spots suspicious person near Bergfeld Park

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Around 2:50 a.m. this morning Thursday, March 17, 2011 a citizen that was on his way to work spotted a W/M in between two homes in the area of College and Second Street.  The witness stated that the subject lay down on the lawn to keep from being spotted.  The witness drove upon a patrol vehicle in the immediate area and told the officer what he observed.  Officers converged on the Bergfeld Park area to search for the subject and found him near the restrooms in the park.

Upon interviewing the subject they found several items that are considered to be instruments that could be used in committing a criminal act such as residential burglary or assault.  The following items were found in his possession: folding knife, black gloves, canister of OC spray, black ski mask, screwdriver, folding mirror, two small flash lights.

The subject was identified as Bryan Wynn, W/M, 04/30/1985, of Tyler. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Wynn that was issued by Judge Clark. Wynn was charged with Unlawful Use of Criminal Instrument, a third degree Felony, bond was set at $10,000.00.

Thanks to the alert and quick response of the citizen, we believe a more serious crime was prevented.
