Tatum boys one win from first state championship

AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) - The Tatum Eagles continue to be underdogs, and the Tatum Eagles continue to win.  The Eagles boys basketball team has advanced to the 2A state championship game after upsetting No. 1 ranked Melissa 70 to 57.  Tatum knocked off No. 2 ranked Crockett last weekend in the regional final.

The Eagles trailed Melissa 19 to 18 after the first quarter, but dominated the No. 1 team the rest of the way.  Tatum outscored Melissa 18 to 6 in the second quarter and never trailed again.  The Eagles led by as many as 17 points in the 4th quarter.  Senior Desmond Fite led Tatum 21 points.
