TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) – The Texas Rangers are looking into a deputy-involved shooting in Trinity County.

According to Trinity Co. Sheriff's Chief Deputy Billy Patton, a deputy shot a citizen during an incident Tuesday night.  Patton says Texas Ranger Steve Rayburn of Conroe is investigating.

He also confirmed the victim is still alive after the shooting.

A neighbor of the victim, Dwight Woof of Groveton, says he heard three shots fired at a residence on W. 2nd St behind the Brookshire Brothers store.  He says he was sitting in his yard a block away.

He believes it was a female deputy who fired the shots at his 22 year-old friend.
