By Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto

The Tornado Watch for East Texas has been canceled. There is still a line of storms moving through the area. Movement should remain toward the East at 15-25mph through the rest of the evening and early night time hours. Small hail. gusty winds, heavy rainfall and significant lightning is possible along with a slight risk of an isolated tornado to develop. The best chances for tornadoes is now to our East.  We will keep you posted.

Continuing through midnight, a dry line and cold front will move through East Texas. Along the dry line is where all of the storms are forming this evening. There will be a chance for isolated strong to severe thunderstorms. A few storms may continue over Eastern and Southern Counties into the early morning hours.

A Moderate Risk of Severe Weather has been issued for areas to our East in Louisiana and Mississippi.

After the storms are over…the weather in ETX should return to a relative calm with cool mornings and mild afternoons and lots of sunshine.
