Man Accused Of Shooting A Sheriff's Deputy Charged

52 year old David Russell is charged with aggravated assault, escape, robbery and burglary. Russell is the jail inmate who was taken to the hospital for an x- ray and wrestled a gun away from sheriff's deputy, Judy Cadenhead. He then allegedly shot her and a hospital security guard. The indictment says before his arrest and after the shooting, Russell car jacked a nurse's vehicle, burglarized a house in Harrison County and robbed a restaurant.

If convicted, Russell could get 25 years to life in prison as a habitual offender.
