In a strange twist of events, the man charged with killing two people in a crime spree stopped his trial and pleaded guilty. 24 year old Roderic Luster was convicted of capital murder and aggravated robbery. Prosecutors say he and his now 17 year old girlfriend Barbara Jeffery robbed convenience stores in Gladewater and Longview. Store clerks Wendy McDonald and Muhammed Ali Khan were shot and killed during the robberies.
Luster was sentenced to two life sentences for the murders and 35 years for the robbery. Barbara Jeffery was sentenced to life in prison last May.
