Some people in Tyler recently got the chance to rate the police department in a survey this spring.
In the category of officer attitude, the survey shows an 83.6 percent approval rating which is up from 82.9 percent last year. But, there was a four percent drop in satisfaction among Tyler residents when it came to the departments response to routine problems going from 78.9 percent to 75.9 percent.
In the category of police leadership, they got their highest approval ever from 79.1 percent in 2002 to 86.2percent in 2003.
The survey also showed fewer people think crime's rising.
