Gift of Love: Justiss

By Jennifer Hines - bio | email

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Justiss, 16, loves sports and is a star on the basketball court and the baseball field. Now, all he needs is a forever family in his cheering section.

Justiss loves animals and hopes to even work at the zoo someday. Like most teenagers, he also loves to browse the internet, listen to music, watch movies, play video games, hang out with friends and play sports.

Justiss is on the basketball team and, in a normal game, scores up to half of the points.

"I'd like to be a professional basketball player and play for the Dallas Mavericks," said Justiss.

When he is not playing basketball, Justiss can be found playing the drums for his church's youth group.

"They just asked and they need a drummer and I said, 'Yeah, I'll play for ya'll,' and just did it and happened to like it," he said.

He says his favorite subjects are Art and World Geography. Justiss is getting help with some of his classes and will need help staying on track.

"My least favorite subject is Math because I'm having a hard time," he said.

When it comes to finding his forever family, Justiss would like a big one.

"I would like to have little brothers and sisters because I like to work with kids," shared the 16 year old. "This summer I have a job at the Boys and Girls Club with the little kids, the nine and 10 year olds."

Justiss has been in foster care for many years. He was previously adopted but, his adoptive parents are now deceased.

Justiss is looking for a family who help him transition into adulthood and, most importantly, show him the gift of love.
