A portion of two Smith County Commissioners' salaries will now be going into a new fund to reward county employees.
Commissioners made that decision Monday.
Sharon Emmert and Frank Sawyer have been forgoing about 63-thousand dollars a year of their salaries combined.
Until now, that's been going into a contingency fund. But starting in October, the county will have a productivity fund for employees who go above and beyond.
County Becky Dempsey says they're in the process of setting up some objective measurements for employees for the new incentives.
