New statistics show gas prices already leaving their mark

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The average cost for a gallon of gas in Texas now sits at just over $3.15 a gallon. Continued tension in the Middle East is already causing comparisons to the sky high gas prices we saw two years ago.

A.A.A. says for a typical family with two vehicles the price spike should cost an extra $50 to $60 dollars more per month.

Experts say the drastic price hikes taking the price up nearly ten cents Thursday night should taper off when the violence does in the Middle East.

Despite the ever increasing cost, A.A.A. representatives say Americans are much more equipped to deal with this increase than the gas craze of 2008. More fuel efficient cars occupy the roadways hopefully taking the sting out of this year's prices.
