Father arrested for stealing son's identity

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man has been arrested and charged for stealing his son's identity.

Investigators looked into the alleged crime in November 2010 after his son, Larry D. Parker said that his father, Larry J. Parker, 39, of Paducah had stolen his identity.

The son discovered the act after receiving a copy of his credit report in the alleged crime, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office.

According to police reports, the victim's social security card number had been used since 1998, when he was only nine-years-old.

The father had used the social security number for more than several years, with the last time in 2009 when the older Parker purchased a semi-truck for more than $92,000, says Captain Matt Carter.

The semi was repossessed for delinquent payment in the summer of 2010.

Larry J. Parker was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail on Feb. 23, 2010 on theft of identity charges.

The crime is a Class D Felony and punishable for up to five years in prison if convicted.
