67 years of a commitment to children in Tyler was celebrated Thursday.
The Tyler Day Nursery started in 1936 with a vision of 21 ladies who wanted to provide childcare to less fortunate families in Tyler.
67 years later that tradition is still going strong. Current executive director, Alicia Hill hopes the Tyler Day Nursery's legacy will be to continue providing exceptional childcare to children and their parents who cannot afford it.
"I think that we should be very proud of Tyler Day Nursery because we are a city that does something that other cities don't provide and we are supported 100 percent by our community organizations and individuals," says Hill.
Hill also thanked the many people who have worked for and volunteered for the Tyler Day Nursery over the years.
