Kilgore man succumbs to injuries from motorcycle crash

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - On Saturday, February 19, 2011 at about 5:57 p.m. the Kilgore Police Department responded to State Highway 135 at the State Highway 31 overpass, Kilgore, Texas in response to a motorcycle crash.

Upon arrival, police found a 2001 Victory Motorcycle crashed on the roadway.

The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Danny Albert Nauman, 36 years of age, of Kilgore. Mr. Nauman had sustained serious injury and was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center (GSMC) in Longview, Texas via Champion EMS.

Mr. Nauman later succumbed to his injuries and died. Mr. Nauman was formally pronounced dead at GSMC by Gregg County Justice of the Peace Sam Lawson. Initial investigation suggests no other vehicles were involved in the crash and the speed of the motorcycle may have been a factor. Mr. Nauman was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.
