TYLER, TX (KLTV) – A Tyler man who nearly lost his life in a 2008 car accident was reunited Thursday morning with the people he says saved his life.

The crash happened in December of 2008 on W. Fourth Street in Tyler.

Zackary Fore says he's a survivor by the grace of god.

It's been more than two years since Zack first met the two people who would save his life.

Zackary hydroplaned then slammed into a tree. Nearly everything, from his hips to his head, was broken in the crash.

"Just from the injuries that I had, they told me I should have been dead more than nine ways over. So, I definitely wanted to give thanks to the people who really saved my life," Zack says.

Those people are Gayle Holt and Jason Williams.

"They brought me back to life," Zack said.

"He's one of those calls that have stuck in my mind and probably will for the rest of my life," said Williams.

Zackary spent a month in the ICU, then 6 months in rehab.

Gayle says his recovery is a miracle, "I've been doing this a long time and out of twenty years, I've had about three or four that I've actually looked me up to meet me. So, it's really a rare occurrence."

"To actually have somebody come back to us and say how much he's appreciated what we've done, it really make this job worth it," Williams says.

Now, Zackary plans to ride in the back of the ambulance, but, this time not as a patient.

"I definitely wanted to come up and just see the people that really saved my life and give something back to the community. That's why I'm going to school to be a paramedic now," Zack expressed.

A decision Zackary credits Gayle and Jason for allowing him to make.

Zack says, "The Lord takes pieces and he makes them whole."

Zackary just started studying to be a paramedic in January at Tyler Junior College.
