NEW SUMMERFIELD, TX (KLTV) - An Ohio woman is suing Skechers, because she blames their "shape-up" shoes for her injuries. She says she developed stress fractures in both hips. The shoes are the fastest-growing segment of the athletic shoe market. One East Texas woman feels like her Skecher Shape Up's, shape her up just perfectly.
New Summerfield's Sabrina Adams is a true fan of the Skecher Shape-Up shoe.
" I've been wearing these for awhile now and I have no problem. I wear them almost everyday, I even wear them in the house while I'm cleaning the house, I even dance in them," says Adams.
When Adams heard about the recent lawsuit against Skechers, she says she was very disappointed.
Adams said, " It upset me because I don't want Skechers to go out of business because I wear a lot of Skechers."
Holly Ward from Ohio, says she has pins in both of her hips. According to ABC News, she blames Skechers shape ups for the injury.
"The extended use of these shoes has injured me catastrophically," says Ward.
When Adams got her shoes she says she got a video with details and directions on how to wear the Shape-Up shoes, and has not had one problem.
" I wear them up and down a hallway, I wear them outside, I wear them in the house, and I haven't had any problems with the skechers," says Adams.
ABC news says they spoke to half a dozen Orthopedists, and most of them were skeptical that a shoe alone could cause the injuries the lawsuit describes.
