1 dead in Crockett shooting

CROCKETT, Texas (KTRE) - Crockett Police are investigating a shooting death of a man Monday night. One suspect, Tony Robinson, was arrested and charged with murder.

According to a Crockett Police press release, Aundra Hamilton knocked on the door at 107 Alex McMearn Street around 8 p.m. Robinson answered the door and an argument ensued between the two.

Crockett Police believe during the argument, Robinson used a pistol to shoot Hamilton.

A justice of the peace pronounced Hamilton dead at the scene.

Texas Ranger Jim Huggins and the Houston County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the investigation.

Information on the ages of the suspect and victim, as well as the relationship between the two, was not immediately available.
