Landmen donate to Texas Wounded Warriors

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Texas Wounded Warriors received a pretty good sized donation from the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen. A check for 10,050 dollars was presented at the Cascades Clubhouse in Tyler.

Texas Wounded Warriors will contribute the money to Hope for the Warriors, an organization that distributes funds to wounded veterans to offset living expenses and help them alter their houses and vehicles for easier access. They also help those with immediate needs.

"We're helping the family members that are displaced because they have to leave their home wherever it may be to go out to Army Medical Centers and try to help out their family members that are wounded," said Matt Bricka, a member of the board.

Wounded Warriors also hosts an annual golf tournament for the veterans. They say it gives the veterans a distraction, something to take their minds off their personal outcome of war.

Texas Wounded Warriors raised 32,000 dollars last year.
