Big drug bust in Overton nets cocaine, other drugs

OVERTON, TX - On Thursday, January 27, 2011, at approximately 6:50pm, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office Tactical Unit along with the Henderson Police Department Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Don Paul Haynes, in the 10000 block of County Road 1410, in Overton.

The search warrant was issued due to an investigation conducted by Rusk County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Investigators and the Henderson Police Department Narcotics Investigators. The search warrant was issued by County Court at Law, Judge Chad Dean.

During the execution of the search warrant officers located over 8 grams of suspected crack cocaine, over 18 grams of suspected powder cocaine, over 18 grams of suspected marijuana, less than 28 grams of alprazolam, less than 28 grams of diazepam, less than one gram of suspected heroin, and a firearm.

Don Paul Haynes, 54 years old, of Overton, Christopher Marlo Florence, 39 years old, of Tyler, and Frances Irene Jernigan Haynes, 51 years old, of Overton, were arrested at the scene.

On Friday, January 28, 2011, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, Judge Joe H. Sorrells charged Don Paul Haynes and Frances Haynes with Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a 1st degree felony, and Possession of Controlled Substance, a State Jail Felony, both charges with bond denied, both were also charged with Possession of Marijuana, with bonds set at $1000.

Christopher Florence was charged with Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a 1st degree felony, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, a 1st degree felony, and Possession of Controlled Substance, a State Jail Felony, all three charges with bond denied. Florence was also charged with Possession of Marijuana, with bond set at $1000. All three suspects remain in the Rusk County Jail.
