ETMC Releases Injured Tyler Officer

A Tyler officer injured during a shoot-out in North Tyler last week is home with his family.

Tyler Police say officer Kenneth Gardner walked out of East Texas Medical Center Wednesday morning. Last Thursday, a bullet entered the officer's shoulder, passing through his lung, causing it to collapse. The bullet remains lodged in his body.

Gardner and two civilians were injured during the shoot-out at Grand Manor apartments. Another man, 25 year old Terence Raibon, was killed.
