NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A state trooper reported to have discovered about $10,000 in the air cleaner of a vehicle during a traffic stop Wednesday in Nacogdoches County.
Terea Denise Henry, 26, of El Dorado, Ark., is charged with money laundering.
Trooper Heath White stopped Henry around 8 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 59 South, after she drove on the shoulder of the road. White said she appeared to be nervous and gave "untruthful stories" about why she was driving in the area.
Henry gave consent to search the vehicle and White said he found about $10,000 in the air cleaner of the vehicle.
According to Texas law, a person can be charged with money laundering if the investigating officer suspects the person is transferring money as part of an illegal activity.
