Center Police arrest man in shooting

On Saturday,  January 22, 2011 at approx.  9:43pm Center Police Department Patrol Officers David Haley and Jimmy Wagstaff were dispatched to a shots fired call in the Pecan Grove Trailer Park at 1314 Shelbyville Street.

Officers found that Elias Pasodas/Moreno had been shot in the chest.  Officers went with Moreno to the Shelby Regional Emergency Room and Detectives were called out to the Crime Scene.  Detectives interviewed witnesses and processed evidence at Moreno's  residence.

Detectives were able to get the suspect vehicle identified from the witness statements.  The shooter later identified as Octavio Caporali-Fajardo H/M DOB 11/05/1983 returned to the residence and fired another shot.

Detectives and Officers still on scene were able to take Caporali into custody without any harm to him or anyone else.  Caporali was also a resident of Pecan Grove, living in trailer numbered 2.  Officers recovered the firearm ( .38 caliber revolver) and ammunition inside the vehicle Caporali was driving.

Federal charges are pending on Caporali for this incident as well as being an illegal Alien.  (I.C.E.) has contacted the Center Police Department and placed a hold on Caporali. Your Police Department at work, protecting you, your family and the City of Center.
