HENDERSON, TX (KLTV) – Gary Lynn Jones , 42, of Henderson pleaded guilty to a September 2010 Aggravated Sexual Assault of a 21-year-old girl.
According to authorities, Jones convinced the girl to ride along on his morning paper route with promise of payment for her assistance.
Once in a desolate area, Jones proposed that he and the young woman have sex. When she refused, he produced what looked like a handgun.
After the assault, Jones then tied the girl up in his car.
Out of fear that her life was about to end, the girl managed to slide her drivers license out of her wallet and drop it underneath the seat, in hopes that if she were murdered, the police would know that she had been in the car.
The girl was then carried to a rural area in Rusk County near Hwy 64 W, where she managed to escape through some woods. She hid underneath a trailer home. The owner of the home allowed the girl to use the phone to call her father and police.
Jones has been sentenced been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
