Tax Free Weekend

Parking lots are already packed, and store aisles are getting congested as the tax-free shopping holiday weekend is underway. Merchants say the big items people are after this year are clothes; mainly back-to-school clothes for kids.

And for shoppers it's the perfect shopping experience. "The sales, I love the sales racks because I can buy clothes for next summer and without the tax its even cheaper" says shopper Jennifer Poorman.

At stores like Target, workers are busy restocking the shelves as shoppers are snatching up deals without the 8-and-a-quarter percent sales tax. "I'm going to try to get everything finished today and if I do not finish I'll finish tomorrow" says shopper Frankie Smith.

It's a time shopper and merchant look forward to each year. Some save hundreds of dollars on purchases, and with two more days left it could be a banner year for tax free weekend.
